What this is for

Heavy vinyl with a reinforced eyelet because a lockout tag is applied under load and handled by several people, sometimes over days. Write on fields for name, department, date and reason. Buy against your maintenance event count, not your headcount - one technician may apply a dozen in a shift.

In service

Hung from the lock on an isolated energy source, and it stays there for as long as the work does. The reinforced eyelet exists because this tag takes a genuine pull when someone tests the isolation by yanking it.

How it fails

Heavy vinyl survives the pull. The photograph does not: crews that laminate a photo of the person onto the tag find it curls off in a hot plant room, and an unnamed lock is a lock nobody will cut.

Who fills it in

The person applying the lock, by hand, before the work starts - their name, the date, and what is isolated. One tag per person per lock. That rule is what makes the count at the end mean something.

Common questions

How long does heavy vinyl last on guarded machinery?

Survives a full lockout cycle and repeated handling, including wash down. Bulkier than card and more expensive. For a tag that stays put and is read rather than handled, it is more stock than the job needs. For guarded machinery specifically, the question to ask is where the units actually sit: the same stock behaves very differently in a conditioned corridor and in an unconditioned plant room.

What does TAG-LOTO-VIN cost at my volume?

$0.70 per unit at 100, falling to $0.52 at 1,000 - about 26 percent less per unit at the top break. The full table is on this page and there is no quote step. The entry break is 100 units and the top break is 1,000. Per unit that is a 1.3 times difference, which is worth doing the arithmetic on rather than guessing: take your annual device count, add what you expect to add this year, add about ten percent for spoilage and re-tags, and order to the break that number crosses. Buying past it is buying storage rather than savings, and stock held for years is stock that outlives a licence renewal or a change of address.

How fast will TAG-LOTO-VIN ship?

Production runs four to five business days plus transit. Synthetic stocks need a cure or dwell step after printing that card does not, which is where the extra day goes. You approve a print accurate proof before payment is taken, and that proof comes from the same engine that generates the file the press receives, so what you approve is what gets printed. There is no separate proofing round trip by email.

Do I have to use the serialization on TAG-LOTO-VIN?

Each unit prints with a unique code and a QR. The first scan binds it to a device and a location; every scan after that opens the inspection form for that device type and writes a permanent record. The building owner and the authority having jurisdiction can scan the same code and read the history without an account or a phone call. If you never scan anything, the inspection tag still works as an ordinary one, so nothing is lost by ignoring the feature.

Proof approval, reprints and what happens if an order arrives wrong are the same for every product: how ordering works.
