What this is for

Displayed rather than affixed, and laminated because a kitchen certificate lives in steam and grease. Every field is imprinted at production rather than handwritten, since a laminated surface will not take a ballpoint. Specify the cleaning date and next due when you order.

In service

Posted inside the kitchen, near the hood or the extinguishing system panel, where an inspector will look for it. Lamination is not for durability so much as grease: the surface has to survive being wiped with a degreasing cloth.

How it fails

Laminate lifts at the edge in a kitchen and then wicks grease between the layers, which browns the certificate from the outside in. Full edge seal is the difference between two years and six months.

Who fills it in

The cleaning contractor completes it at the end of the job and leaves it posted. Nobody writes on it afterwards; it is a certificate, not a running log.

Common questions

How long does laminated card stock last on commercial kitchen hood?

Two to three years indoors. The laminate is what buys the extra life over plain card. Cannot be written on with a ballpoint once laminated, so any variable field has to be imprinted at production rather than filled in on site. For commercial kitchen hood specifically, the question to ask is where the units actually sit: the same stock behaves very differently in a conditioned corridor and in an unconditioned plant room.

What does CERT-HOOD-LAM cost at my volume?

$1.34 per unit at 100, falling to $1.07 at 500 - about 20 percent less per unit at the top break. The full table is on this page and there is no quote step. The entry break is 100 units and the top break is 500. Per unit that is a 1.3 times difference, which is worth doing the arithmetic on rather than guessing: take your annual device count, add what you expect to add this year, add about ten percent for spoilage and re-tags, and order to the break that number crosses. Buying past it is buying storage rather than savings, and stock held for years is stock that outlives a licence renewal or a change of address.

How fast will CERT-HOOD-LAM ship?

Production runs three to four business days plus transit, which is the fastest path on the site. Card and Tyvek print and cut in one pass with no cure step. You approve a print accurate proof before payment is taken, and that proof comes from the same engine that generates the file the press receives, so what you approve is what gets printed. There is no separate proofing round trip by email.

Do I have to use the serialization on CERT-HOOD-LAM?

Each unit prints with a unique code and a QR. The first scan binds it to a device and a location; every scan after that opens the inspection form for that device type and writes a permanent record. The building owner and the authority having jurisdiction can scan the same code and read the history without an account or a phone call. If you never scan anything, the service certificate still works as an ordinary one, so nothing is lost by ignoring the feature.

Proof approval, reprints and what happens if an order arrives wrong are the same for every product: how ordering works.
