What this is for

Identical layout to the card version, on stock that survives a loading dock, a rooftop, or a coastal site. The decision is location, not preference: if you are re-tagging units mid-cycle because the tag has gone illegible, you are already paying more than the difference between these two.

In service

The same bracket as the card version, chosen when the extinguisher lives outdoors, in a wash-down bay, or in a kitchen. UV cure means the print sits in the plastic rather than on it, so degreaser takes the grime and leaves the legend.

How it fails

Rarely the tag. What fails is the pen: ballpoint skates off a UV cured surface and the initial is gone by the next visit. Crews that switch to a fine permanent marker stop losing entries.

Who fills it in

Same monthly and annual rhythm as card, but the tag routinely outlives the extinguisher. Servicers move them to the replacement unit rather than reissue.

Common questions

How long does uv cured plastic last on fire extinguisher?

Several years outdoors before the print noticeably fades. Roughly double the cost of card, and overkill for anything mounted indoors. The rigidity also makes it slightly harder to attach in a tight neck space. For fire extinguisher specifically, the question to ask is where the units actually sit: the same stock behaves very differently in a conditioned corridor and in an unconditioned plant room.

What does TAG-FE-UV cost at my volume?

$0.99 per unit at 100, falling to $0.68 at 2,500 - about 31 percent less per unit at the top break. The full table is on this page and there is no quote step. The entry break is 100 units and the top break is 2,500. Per unit that is a 1.5 times difference, which is worth doing the arithmetic on rather than guessing: take your annual device count, add what you expect to add this year, add about ten percent for spoilage and re-tags, and order to the break that number crosses. Buying past it is buying storage rather than savings, and stock held for years is stock that outlives a licence renewal or a change of address.

How fast will TAG-FE-UV ship?

Production runs three to four business days plus transit, which is the fastest path on the site. Card and Tyvek print and cut in one pass with no cure step. You approve a print accurate proof before payment is taken, and that proof comes from the same engine that generates the file the press receives, so what you approve is what gets printed. There is no separate proofing round trip by email.

Do I have to use the serialization on TAG-FE-UV?

Each unit prints with a unique code and a QR. The first scan binds it to a device and a location; every scan after that opens the inspection form for that device type and writes a permanent record. The building owner and the authority having jurisdiction can scan the same code and read the history without an account or a phone call. If you never scan anything, the inspection tag still works as an ordinary one, so nothing is lost by ignoring the feature.

Proof approval, reprints and what happens if an order arrives wrong are the same for every product: how ordering works.
