What this is for
A three colour set, not three separate products: red for do not use, yellow for restricted, green for inspected and safe. You buy the set because a scaffold moves between all three states over its life. Rigid PVC because these are flipped and re-hung by hand every shift.
In service
Hung at every access point of the erection and read from the ground before anyone climbs. Rigid PVC holds its shape in wind rather than curling, so the status face stays pointed at the person deciding whether to step on.
How it fails
The failure is procedural, not material. A tag left showing the previous shift status is worse than no tag, because it actively tells a climber the scaffold was checked when it was not.
Who fills it in
The competent person, before each work shift and again after anything that could affect structural integrity. Status flips are the whole job; the writing is secondary.
Common questions
How long does rigid pvc last on scaffold?
Multi-year, and built to be handled repeatedly rather than affixed once. Heavier and dearer per unit, and it does not take handwriting well unless you use a marker rather than a ballpoint. For scaffold specifically, the question to ask is where the units actually sit: the same stock behaves very differently in a conditioned corridor and in an unconditioned plant room.
What does TAG-SCAF-SET cost at my volume?

The entry break is 100 units and the top break is 500. Per unit that is a 1.2 times difference, which is worth doing the arithmetic on rather than guessing: take your annual device count, add what you expect to add this year, add about ten percent for spoilage and re-tags, and order to the break that number crosses. Buying past it is buying storage rather than savings, and stock held for years is stock that outlives a licence renewal or a change of address.
How fast will TAG-SCAF-SET ship?
Production runs four to five business days plus transit. Synthetic stocks need a cure or dwell step after printing that card does not, which is where the extra day goes. You approve a print accurate proof before payment is taken, and that proof comes from the same engine that generates the file the press receives, so what you approve is what gets printed. There is no separate proofing round trip by email.
Do I have to use the serialization on TAG-SCAF-SET?
Each unit prints with a unique code and a QR. The first scan binds it to a device and a location; every scan after that opens the inspection form for that device type and writes a permanent record. The building owner and the authority having jurisdiction can scan the same code and read the history without an account or a phone call. If you never scan anything, the inspection tag still works as an ordinary one, so nothing is lost by ignoring the feature.
